Certificate IV in Music Industry

  • AOMI’s Cert. IV in Music Industry qualification is primarily aimed at school leavers and mature aged students student.
  • Students who are still in secondary school — years 11-12 are also welcome to apply.
  • The Cert. IV is a music performance-based program and applicants must play a musical instrument, or sing
  • Students are expected to dedicate a min. of 20 hours per week to their online studies and must have a recent model computer, high speed internet connection and basic word processing software

  • Cert. IV is not eligible for HECS or VET student loans

Having some level of proficiency on an instrument (any) or vocals is a pre-requisite of entry for this course.
All course content is delivered in the language of English and as such, applicants must satisfy basic English skills in order to be accepted. If you have questions about this, and English is not your primary language, you will need to discuss this with enrolment staff. Please contact us!

Full-Time study load

  • 1 year duration [4 study terms]
  • 40 weeks of study
  • 25 hours per week

Part-Time study load

  • 18 months duration [6 study terms]
  • 60 weeks of study
  • 13.5 hours per week

Nationally Recognised and Accredited Training

AOMI’s programs of study are nationally recognised and accredited. RTO Number 41137.


  • AOMI’s programs of study are tailored to be delivered in an online-only format
  • All students are expected to have access to a recent model computer and a high-speed internet connection
  • All lesson content is delivered online, and supplied resources (i.e. text-books, software etc.) are mailed to the student’s residential address, upon enrolment
  • AOMI’s programs of study are delivered in English and students must have English language proficiency
  • The Cert. IV in Music Industry qualification is aimed at mature aged students and current secondary school age musicians or vocalists (years 11-12) who can dedicate an additional 20+ hours per week to their current study roster.

Certificate IV courses are considered a pathway into Diploma, or Degree level studies. Alternatively, they can be taken “stand alone” to expand the students knowledge base and skill-set.
